NSW Selection Trials for the 2025 National Under 19 Championships to be held in Darwin
Representative Eligibility & Prerequisites
All athletes must meet the following eligibility and prerequisite criteria prior to nominating:
Minimum Bout Requirements (WB/BAL Sanctioned Only):

Elite Male & Female: |
Must meet the minimum bout count as set by Boxing Australia NSW. (Minimum 10 sanctioned bouts). |
Male Youth: |
Minimum 10 sanctioned bouts. |
Female Youth: |
Minimum 7 sanctioned bouts. |
Male Junior: |
Minimum 5 sanctioned bouts. |
Female Junior: |
Minimum 5 sanctioned bouts. |
Male & Female Under 15: |
Minimum 3 sanctioned bouts. |
Note: Exhibition or competition sparring will not be counted.
Note: All bouts must be consecutive WB/BAL sanctioned contests.
Australian Passport Requirement:
All Elite Open Division Boxers must hold a valid Australian passport to be eligible for Commonwealth Games Pathway selection.
Weight Categories:
Boxers must nominate and compete at their selected weight division. No exemptions will be granted for incorrect weight.
CSA Medical Record Book (Blue Book):
Must be presented on the day of the event. Only WB/BAL sanctioned bouts listed in the Blue Book will be considered valid.
Representative Clarifications
Open “B” Spot Opportunities:
The “B” position in each weight category will remain open to allow for:

Youth boxers transitioning into Elite ranks.

Eligible professional boxers returning to the amateur pathway.

Open challenge bouts may be used to finalise B-spot selection.
Selection is Not Automatic:
Winning a bout does not guarantee selection. The final athlete selections will be made by the BANSW Selection Committee and approved by the BANSW Board.
Podium Potential Standard:
BANSW will only endorse athletes who demonstrate strong potential to medal at the national level or beyond.
Funding Allocation:
-
“A” selected athletes: Majority funded by BANSW.

“B” selected athletes: Partially funded, with potential for further challenge to earn “A” designation.
Disqualification:
Athletes who do not meet the above criteria on the day will be ineligible to compete.
Final Decision:
Representative selection is at the sole discretion of the BANSW Selection Committee.
